Wish I Was There Winners - Al Fresco Holidays

In the middle of January we launched the ‘Wish I Was There’ competition to help everyone through the winter months and get us in the mood for holidays in the sun.

All that was required was that entrants posted a picture that epitomised their favourite holiday – nothing technical, just something that would cheer up our readers and make them think “I wish I was there!”

The winner chose the Nikon D3200 DSLR prize so they could take some even more brilliant snaps in the future. We had a great response via Twitter and Instagram using the #AFWishIWasThere hashtag (feel free to look it up) and yes, it inspired us to remember what’s important about summer holidays – the good times with the people we love, new experiences and the vast expanses of blue sky.

Although the decision was difficult, we ended up with a winner: Laura Bryant, who runs the Bryant Bunch Dawlish blog and describes herself as “Working mum of 4, married to Bim for 23 years. Juggling 2 jobs, comping and living life to the full.” Her snaps perfectly summed up the family holiday while the kids are still young enough to be thrilled by it all.

The headlong rush to the sea down a gorgeous sandy beach at La Rive, Biscarrosse in AquitaineFrance – with the kids presumably getting there in reverse order of age – captures one of those unforgettable, irreplaceable moments parenthood brings.
