‘Happy Monday’ Competition Winner Reviews Chateau Des Ormes - Al Fresco Holidays

Eleanor Barnard won a holiday with her family to our Chateau Des Ormes parc in August for our ‘Happy Monday competition’.  Check out what she got up to and what she thought of the parc in her review below:

“We visited Chateau Des Ormes in the middle of August for an outdoor family holiday in the sun! We booked a cabin on the ferry from Portsmouth to Cherbourg, if only to have a snooze after our long drive down from the North, and arrive in France refreshed. Our sat nav took us straight to Chateau Des Ormes and upon check-in we were greeted by three very friendly reps, two of whom hopped onto their bicycles to lead us along the well-manicured lanes to our home for the next seven days. They explained everything to us and made us feel like our holiday had truly begun!

Our holiday home had three bedrooms, a very spacious lounge and a fantastic outdoor area complete with seating and a gas BBQ. There was ample room to park and enough space between caravans that we really felt like we had privacy. We unpacked then went out to explore the parc…. and what a parc! It couldn’t be more well equipped… shops, restaurants, a takeaway, ice cream cabin, swimming pools and more outdoor activities than we had time for!

Over the course of the week we splashed and swam in the fabulous pool with a wave machine! We enjoyed a tree top adventure, zip wire, hired bicycles, used our leg power on the pedaloes around the lake, rode horses and enjoyed a few rounds of mini golf… there is so much to do, no one could ever be bored, young or old!

The on-site shop’s bakery produces fresh baked goods every day and the morning wander there for warm croissants was relaxing and something I’m dreaming of now that we are home and the Winter frosts have arrived!

Chateau Des Ormes is close to a stunning historical village, Dol de Bretagne, which we visited twice. St-Malo, St Nazaire and Mont St Michel are also only a short drive away and we enjoyed some wonderful days out, before returning to our caravan for a salad and BBQ in the evening sun…. bliss!”
