Les Sablons at Portiragnes Plage - Al Fresco Holidays

Whether your looking for a fun and exciting family holiday or a peaceful getaway for two, an Al Fresco break at Les Sablons is the perfect destination for you.

Unlike other family orientated parks, Les Sablons has all the opportunities for days spent banana boating and sliding down water shoots without loosing its tranquil atmosphere.

A beautiful resort set in the small town of Portiragnes, the campsite has a large swimming pool complex complete with water slides for the kids (and adults alike), plenty of sun loungers and a sun bathing terrace giving an amazing panoramic view of the site.  Trees, colourful flower beds and luscious shrubbery line the many mobile homes and tent pitches, giving it the feel of a vibrant oasis next to a long sandy beach.

Despite it being a large site it looses nothing of its personal feel.  The animation team provides activities for everyone, sport games for the children, dance and aerobic classes for the mums and pottery classes for anyone who doesn’t feel like being so active on holiday.

Portiragnes may be a small town, but holiday makers needn’t leave the area as they are provided with many restaurants, bars and shops right on their door step.  During high season small pop up stalls spring up around the campsites offering beautiful jewellery, family portraits and hand crafted hand bags.  Perfect gifts for friends and family at home.

The beautiful sandy beach is accessible directly from the camp site and offers water sports for the more daring members of the family.  For sunbathers, the sand dunes offer the perfect secluded spot to work on your tan.

In the evening, the bar on site has a wide selection of cocktails, mocktails, wine and beer.  The evening entertainment is varied but equally impressive which ever night you catch it on.  Picture a magician pulling not one dog from a small box, which he has just impaled with a sword, but eight dogs, two doves, two goats, a ram, a goose and finally a man.  This is the type of breath taking shows the animation team put together night after night.

For those with a car (highly recommended), a short drive away is the old town of Bezier with plenty of site seeing and shopping opportunities.  Further afield is the famous city of Carcassonne, a must see for any one visiting this area of Languedoc, France.

For those who have flown into the local airports (Bezier/Montpellier) and without a  car, there are still plenty of opportunities to visit the local area.  There is bike hire readily available, for those who want to explore.  Bezier is a short cycle up the canal midi and Agde is a picturesque hours ride away.  For others, the animation team has plenty of excursions in place so there will never be a dull moment on your holiday.

Les Sablons is a popular resort for families and couples, activity junkies and sun worshipers   Children play outside and parents invite over new friends for a glass of local wine of their veranda.  Every year we see loyal Al Fresco customers returning from the previous summer, eager to get back to a site which gives them everything they could possibly need in a holiday; sun, sea and entertainment.
