My mum and dad took it in turns to drive the 10 hours from London to Cornwall, with me, my 6 year old sister Amelia and my friend Kai.
The holiday was in St Ives in Cornwall. It was a lovely little village, really colourful with lots of little tea rooms serving scones, homemade jam and cream. The beaches were stunning and the rest of the family enjoyed sunbathing. My sister made sandcastles, ate ice cream and paddled. It was strange because during the week we saw other people that we knew from school, in the evening we went to the resort club where my mum and dad had a drink and my sister made me dance with her.
Kai and I took a five day surfing course at a nearby beach surfing for around 8 hours each day. What I didn’t like was by the end of the week I had sores on my feet where I kept forgetting to put protective shoes on, I won’t forget that again!
It was so funny trying to keep up in the beginning failing time and time again, however it was brilliant when practice made perfect.
For my sixteenth birthday, this summer, my family would love to take a break in France on a Thomson family holiday park in Aquitaine at the resort of Hossegor which is a surfer’s dream. The waves are said to be Europe’s biggest and best. I can’t wait to surf again!
