Pra Golf Club – Monthly Tournament - Al Fresco Holidays
We became very proud Al Fresco Reps recently! On the first weekend of the month Pra Golf Club hold a tournament (a Stableford competition) and has around 100 entries. One of our guests, Darragh Flynn, aged 15, impressed The Club so much that he was invited to enter. He was the only English speaking player but this didn’t stop him from enjoying the experience. Darragh unfortunately didn’t get into the last three, but he did attend the sumptuous 5-course meal afterwards. We asked Darragh what he enjoyed about the course and how it compared to his home course. His comments were “It’s a good, challenging course especially the 14th where the green is an island – so Beware!”
Darragh was on a 3-week holiday with his family, and is a very keen golfer, being Junior Captain of Carton House Golf Club in Co Kildare with a handicap of only 6. He came, well prepared with his golf equipment. Darragh was welcomed to The Club and was able to practise on the putting and chipping green and driving range (there is a charge for these facilities). He was able to take full advantage of the special evening golf price of only 20€ after 6pm which suited him because he is also a keen footballer and had joined the Pra football school.
On his second week on site John Tracey’s family arrived. John aged 15 and also a keen golfer, playing off 16, soon discovered Darragh and coincidentally, they belonged to the same Golf Club. Unfortunately John had not brought his golf equipment so had to hire from the club. But it meant the two boys could play together. The lads really enjoyed playing the course but recommend that you bring your equipment because it is always better to play a great course like Pra with your own clubs.
