Au revoir from Les Meds - Al Fresco Holidays

Here’s a last blog from our campsite rep, Cynthea, at Les Mediterranées, who kindly sent this in after she unfortunately had to return home. But she has passed on the names of new reps to me, who she assures me will write very good blogs. So, watch this space.

“All the evening markets are now open, ensuring a lovely bustling atmosphere after a day at the beach, with Marseillan Ville, close to the campsite, on Fridays. Besides the information provided in the file in each of our mobile homes, keep an eye on our notice board and the Tourist Centre for times and dates of other evening markets around the area.

Now is the time for Fireworks and Carnival. 14th July was Bastille Day, remembering the storming of the Bastille and the start of the Revolution. (I think we have have all learnt a bit about that from Les Miserables.) The French really know how to CELEBRATE their national holidays – and it will all happen again on 15th August, The Feast of the Assumption.

For those less squeamish, who might want to experience bull-fighting, but don’t want to go to Spain, try Beziers on 15th August, where the town closes for huge celebrations.

Cheers from Marseillan Plage.”

Au revoir, Cynthea.
