Bonjour from Camping La Baume in Cote d’Azur - Al Fresco Holidays
Welcome to Camping La Baume, Cote d’Azur, France. My name is Heather and I was the representative for Thomson Al Fresco on this parc for the 2010 season.
Situated 3 miles from the roman seaside town of Frejus, La Baume is a very large and lively campsite with so much to offer the holidaymaker and their children.
The best feature for me on this parc would have to be the stunning swimming pools. With 7 pools separated into two areas of the parc, there is more than enough water here to satisfy everyone’s swimming and sunbathing needs and desires. We have Outdoor heated pools, outdoor unheated pools, and indoor pool with slide and steam room, a lagoon style pool with infant area and various others.
If swimming or sunbathing isn’t your thing, the onsite animation team have activities to keep everyone fit and entertained all week! They organise sporting events like badminton, tennis, table tennis, basket ball, football and even volleyball on the sand pitch. Aqua aerobics is a really popular activity at 11am every day, working out to those cheesy French tunes seems to amuse everyone!
The evening entertainment is as equally superb here, and I look forward to high season when it becomes more regular. There is karaoke every Thursday evening, a magic show on Mondays and the animation teams’ cabaret on Friday. Every night is a lively night on La Baume with the packed bar and adjoining discotheque open until 3am for all those party animals.
Food on La Baume is of excellent quality. There is a takeaway which sells pizza, burgers, chips and crepes and then we have a restaurant which sells French cuisine. The ice cream here is to die for, with over 20 flavours to choose from you will find yourself standing around trying to decide for ages! My particular favourite is definitely cinnamon yum!
As well as the fantastic facilities onsite, La Baume is within close proximity to some brilliant attractions and famous places to visit. Just up the road you will find Frejus Zoo. It is open quite early in the year so is a good choice for low season customers. Aqualand is about a ten min drive towards St Maxime and has some of the best water park slides in the area. Right next door to aqualand is Luna park which is a theme park open right through into the evening with some exhilarating rides for all those thrill seekers.
From La Baume you can easily visit a number of places either by car or train. Some of these places include Nice, Cannes, St Tropez, Antibes and Port Grimaud. One place I plan on going myself this season is Gorge Du Verdon. This is the second largest canyon in the world and some of the sights are breathtaking. It’s a lot of walking and climbing but I believe it would be worth it.
