EXPERT VERDICT – WHAT DID THE DAILY MIRROR THINK OF ONE OF OUR PARCS? - Al Fresco Holidays
Martin Lipton from the Daily Mirror recently visited Internacional de Calonges and agreed to share with us his experience of the site and his top tips for the area. Keep a look out for his review in the paper for the full details of his experience, but we have a sneak-preview snippet here to give you a taster of what to expect at the parc:
We spent a week at with Thomson Al Fresco at the Club Internacional de Calonges and discovered Platja D’Aro just down the road.
The highlight for our four-year-old daughter was the kiddie’s funfair at the end of the main street, complete with loads of rides designed for the under-12s, although parents can go on the train and the two roller-coasters.
You buy tokens (12 for Euro20) and pay one token per ride although Emma was thrilled by the harness trampoline, which needs a separate ticket but which saw her bouncing 15 feet up in the air seemingly for ever.
The beach and restaurants are some 400 yards away – the main road is parallel to the seafront – and most of them seemed happy to cater for families.
A bit of a shame none of them were open before 8pm – must be the culture of late dining – but offered local specialities and more basic kiddie-friendly food at reasonable prices.
