Honeymoon in Chianti - Al Fresco Holidays
Just thought I’d share this recent email from a customer on Norcenni!
Our Experience at Norcenni Girasole Camping
We stayed at Norcenni Girasole for the last 3 days of our honeymoon to recapture youthful memories of family camping trips to the south of France. Being our honeymoon we selected to stay in a Thomson Alfreso Vivaldi mobile home, which was perched on a hill top overlooking stunning views of the Chianti – not a bad view to enjoy breakfast with every morning. Being slightly rusty on our camping conduct we were relieved to find two very welcoming Thomson Alfreso reps who talked us through the basic commodities of the mobile home, the amenities on the campsite (of which there were lots), the must see surrounding tourist spots, how to get to them and of course the most important piece of information….the restaurant on site where we could enjoy a tasty dinner and quality Italian wines.
Feeling ever more at ease we started exploring the campsite to find numerous swimming pools, water slides, crazy golf, tennis courts, internet, ice cream, a shop packed with anything you can ever imagine needing on holiday (and things you couldn’t) horse riding, bike and scooter hire, fitness centres and spas – all surrounded by yet more stunning views. The atmosphere was warm, inviting and very conducive to chilling out, or going crazy with sporting activities if the mood so took you!
After deciding to properly re-live our youth by resurrecting our tennis careers we worked up an appetite for dinner and headed to ll Veccario. We certainly weren’t let down after the rave reviews given to us by the reps. The food was absolutely fabulous, in particular our 800g Florentine Steak, which was cooked to absolute perfection.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay to Norcenni, a place for everyone. Only 30 minutes to Florence by train it is perfect for the culture vulture, with activities that you can do from dusk til dawn it is perfect for families and with fabulous food, great wine, a beautiful backdrop and sun beds right outside your caravan it’s pretty good for honeymooners too (although these honeymooner couldn’t resist the lure of the waterslides!).
