Great Days Out in Lake Garda - Al Fresco Holidays

Some of the best days out around Lake Garda are Movieland’s Aquastudios and Gardaland.  Gardaland which is Italy’s largest theme park, is Disneyland meets Thorpe Park with something for the whole family.

For the Dads who like a bit of adrenalin you have the ‘Blue Tornado’ inverted roller coaster, for Mums who would prefer the beautiful lake views, there is the floating island which can be seen from Bella Italia!  And for the kids there are many more exciting and gentler rides to experience.  Gardaland can be enjoyed by day or night, any day of the week.  There are plenty of places serving food and drinks too so you can stay for the whole day.

To make things easier for you, tickets can be purchased at the campsite main reception for a reduced price.  All in all Gardaland is a fantastic day out for everyone, not least because the top of every scary ride has Lake Garda as a backdrop.

Movieland’s Aquastudios is a great place to spend a roasting hot day, with everything from the ‘Lazy river’ to ‘Twin peaks’ you will be amused for hours.  Do you dare take on the terrifying ‘Stukas’?  This 100ft drop slide looks even scarier up close, when you see it is literally wide enough for the person brave enough to take it on! First you have to climb the tower, then edge yourself over, don’t look down….

The black hole and crazy river are great fun in a group as you attempt to make a chain with your doughnuts all the way to the bottom.  For those that would like a more tame afternoon then there are sunloungers a plenty, even sandy beaches and a wave pool complete with lifeguard hut.  After a bit of relaxation why not race the rest of the family down the five lane slide?

If all of that sounds like a little too much exertion for you, then why not check out the Parco Termale del Garda.  The two thermal lakes set in magnificent gardens are a perfect setting for a bit of pampering.  The lakes are naturally warm at a temperature of around 37 degrees celcius, with three jacuzzis and several other water features at a very pleasant 39 degrees.  There is a beautiful villa and acres of manicured lawns to take a wander round.

Don’t forget to admire the surrounding area too, Cola di Lazise is set a few kilometres back from Lake Garda amongst vineyards and olive groves which stretch for miles.
