Bonjour from Le Brasilia in Rousilion - Al Fresco Holidays

Bonjour from Le Brasilia, Canet en Rousilion, France! It’s June, the sun is shining and the campsite is buzzing with energy and excietment.

One of the reasons the campsite is thriving with spirit is because of – you guessed it, that thing that every man world wide is glued to the TV for – THE WORLD CUP!! Here with Thomson Al Fresco at Le Brasilia our reps and customers alike are bursting with national pride.  The Germans have flags, the Dutch have horns, and the English with their chants, Football Frenzy has taken over France! On the 17th of June the Al Fresco reps decided to take advantage of this patriotic phenomenom and organised all the Tui customers to take a group, Football Frenzy photograph, with all customers dressed head to toe in their best and brightest world cup attire.

If Football is not your thing, then Brasilia still has plenty to offer the non-sporty customer. Within Animation this year they have produced two Brand New shows for 2010! The first show, “Twist in Saint-Tropez” is a french collaboration of songs from the 60′s. Set on the famous beaches of Saint-Tropez, you’ll hear all your favourite 60′s Hits with choreography to make anyone want to jump to their feet, twist and shout!

Another show premiered a few weeks ago to a packed crowd of guests – the long awaited show  “SISTER ACT”. Taken from the popular movie and new musical, Sister Act tells the story of Deloris Van Cartier, a Lounge-act singer who accidentally witnesses a murder by the hand of her scumbag boyfriend, forcing her to hide in a convent as a Nun. Troubled by her new strict way of life, Deloris (or Sister Mary Clarence) feels like an outcast until she finds salvation in taking the old, dusty, screechy church choir, and re-vamping them into modern, local catholic-superstars. This fun new musical is packed with French dialogue and wonderful English songs you’ll recognize from the Film and musical; and every song energetically choreographed (including tap dancing), you’ll laugh out loud and tap your feet along to the enjoyment of “Sister Act”.

Showbizness is all around Le Brasilia at this time, especially if you’re staying with Thomson Al Fresco. On the 16th of June we received the arrival of our Film Crew, James and Simon, who came to Brasilia to film a new piece to go on the Thomson Al Fresco website, helping us inform the customers on all the updates happening on the site.

The Sparkling-new on site water park has been a big hit with all our customers in 2010, and at the beginning of June we were honoured to welcome the Mayor of Canet, along with other important guests, to officially open the new Pool. The Pool is open every day from 10am until 7pm and all customers of Brasilia are welcome to shoot down the slides, swim in the lagoons, and enjoy a refreshing drink or two in the by-pool snack bar. The pool is an oasis of Polynesian exoticism with hidden coves, jacuzzis and spa pools, slides and swimming pools which are tastefully secluded by rock gardens.

A quick note updating you, the Al Fresco customer, what is going on this month in the Canet Plage Area.

19th of June – Opening of popular Tourist attraction, “Aqualand” Water Park.  (St. Cyprien and Port Leucate)

21st of June – Annual music festival in the center of Canet Plage. (Detailed review on that in July’s Blog)

Finally this month reps Emma-Louise and Loren had to say a sad farewell to Andy, our Brasilia rep who was relocated to Les Meds in Marselllan Plage, but weren’t kept lonely for too long with the arrival of our new Le Brasilia team member Adel! Relocated from campsite Sanguli in Salou, Spain, It is Adel’s fifth season as a overseas representative, and second season with Thomson Al Fresco. Bienvenue Adel!

That’s it for June on Le Brasilia, thanks for reading, and watch this space for July’s blog, which will be once again full of exciting new updates and fun new stories with Thomson Al Fresco
