Lake Garda Parcs - Al Fresco Holidays

Being appointed as the new PR team for Thomson Al Fresco means having to learn about their holidays, their sites and generally take in the Al Fresco experience; which also, for us, meant… Hello Italy!

On a whirlwind tour of the Lake Garda sites of Altomincio, Eden, Fornella, Europa Silvella, Del Garda and Bella Italia, we found enough relaxation, luxury and family fun that showed us glamping would even make a diva like Maria Carey happy.

From the first step into Froggy’s Kingdom at Altomincio, the family friendly and fun filled atmosphere struck. We are two twenty-something year olds and we were dying to strip off and race down the water slides! This parc is definitely best for younger children, with animation programmes, outdoors golf and a secure and safe atmosphere. We were amazed by the soft pool floor – a layer of PVC covered sand, a comfy landing if you slip.

Next stop, the enormous site of Bella Italia, bursting with activities and energy, no way could anyone be bored here. The vast facilities do mean this parc is best for older children, however they offer an amazing animation programme to keep the little ones entertained too. Our tip: pick up a map on your way in, as you may not ever find your home again!

On the opposite end of the spectrum is Eden, a tranquil site to experience a true, natural al fresco adventure. Boasting the most spectacular views, this really is a hidden gem. A car is helpful when staying at this site and make sure you’re full of energy as some parts are set on a very steep hill. Thankfully the Al Fresco pitches are located close to the pool, restaurant and on the flat part of the site!

and Del Garda both ooze with a true neighbourly atmosphere, making even those new to the camping scene, fit in within the first minute. This also is the case for spacious Fornella, which prides itself in its greenery and flowers. Each mobile home is surrounded by plants and trees, providing everyone with the privacy needed and walking along feels though you are actually strolling through a much-loved family garden. A hidden gem meaning you can dine over the lake, with fab food, wine and service.

With Lake Garda in easy walking distance and plenty of activity in local towns, each of these sites has the perfect recipe for a fun filled, relaxed family holiday.

A quick stop tour to Lake Garda with Thomson Al Fresco is clearly all anyone needs to believe in the value of ‘glamping.’
